We start with your RV. We size the bay depth, door height and door width to fit it, with room to spare. If you want RV hookups, we can add them.
Then we plan the living space. How many people will use it? Do they need a bedroom, a bathroom or a small kitchen area? Is it a place to sleep, or a place to work? The answers shape the layout.
Last, we fit it all to your land. Setbacks, slope, access and utilities all matter. We size the building to fit your lot and the local rules.
The living side of the building needs the same care as any home. We plan it with you room by room.
We also plan the wall between the garage bay and the living space carefully, following the building code your city or county uses. That keeps the living side safe, quiet and comfortable.
If you plan to have someone live there full time, tell us early. Local rules can change what’s allowed, and we’ll check them before the design is final.
We build every RV garage with living quarters using stick framing on a concrete slab. That is the same way homes are built. We do not build pole barns, steel buildings or prefab kits.
Stick framing works well for living space. It is easy to insulate, wire and plumb. It takes drywall, windows and trim just like your house. And the outside can match your home.

Adding living space to a garage changes the permit. Your city or county will look at it more like a home. That can mean more plan review and more inspections.
For example, the Ada County Building Division asks for full plans on residential structures, including heating design loads and structural calculations. Cities and other counties have their own rules. Some areas also have rules about who can live in the space.
We pull all the permits and work with the inspectors. If you have an HOA, we help you with their rules too. HOAs can add time, so we start that early.
