An RV Garage Built Around Your RV

An RV is a big investment. Sun, snow and wind wear it down fast when it sits outside. A covered, closed RV garage keeps it dry and safe all year.

We do not start with a stock plan. We start with your RV. We look at its length, height and width. We check the roof AC, the ladder and anything else that sticks up. Then we plan a bay that fits it with room to walk around.

If you might buy a bigger RV later, tell us. We can plan for that now, so you do not outgrow the garage.

Door Height, Bay Depth and Size Fit Your Rig

The door is often the first thing people ask about. An RV needs a taller and wider door than a car. We size the door to your RV’s height and width, with extra room for safe backing.

Bay depth matters too. A long motorhome or fifth-wheel needs a long bay. We set the depth to fit your RV and leave space at the front or back for storage or a workbench.

The size of the whole building depends on your land. Setbacks, slope and driveway access all shape what fits. We plan the RV garage to fit your lot and the local rules.

Add Car Bays, Hookups and More

Many owners want more than one bay. We often build an RV bay next to one or more car bays under one roof. That way your RV, your cars and your toys all have a home.

You can also add:

  • RV hookups: Power, water and a dump connection so you can prep for trips at home.
  • Electrical: Lights, outlets and power for tools.
  • Insulation and heat: So the space stays usable in winter.
  • Plumbing and a bathroom: Handy when you are loading up or working in the shop.
  • A loft: Extra storage overhead.
  • Living space: A guest suite, office or gym next to the RV bay.

Plan the RV Garage Around How You Use It

An RV garage is more than a big box with a tall door. A little planning up front makes it much easier to use every day.

Start with how you pull in and out. We look at your driveway, the turning room on your lot and which side the door should face. A good layout means less backing and fewer tight corners.

Next, think about what else lives in the garage. Many owners want room at the front or side of the bay for a workbench, shelves or gear for trips. Some want space to open the RV’s slide-outs indoors so they can load up without going outside.

Then think ahead. If you might trade up to a longer or taller RV, we can size the bay and door for that now. It costs far less to plan for it today than to change the building later.

Idaho winters are hard on an RV left outside. A closed, stick-framed garage keeps snow, sun and wind off it all year.

Stick-Framed RV Garages That Match Your Home

We build every RV garage with stick framing on a concrete slab. We do not build pole barns or steel buildings.

Stick framing is easy to insulate and finish. It takes the same siding, trim and roofing as your house. So your RV garage can look like it was always part of the property.

What's Included in an RV Garage Build

We handle the full project from start to finish:

  1. Site work and grading
  2. Concrete slab
  3. Stick framing and roof
  4. Doors sized to your RV
  5. Electrical, plumbing and RV hookups (if you want them)
  6. Insulation and heat (if you want them)
  7. Permits and inspections
  8. Final walk-through

You choose what goes inside. We build it to your plan.

We Handle the Permits

An RV garage is a large building, so it almost always needs a permit. Your city or county sets the rules on size, height and how close the building can sit to your property lines.

We pull all the permits and work with the inspectors. If you live in Canyon County outside a city, the county’s Building Department handles permits. Inside a city, the city does. If you have an HOA, there may be extra rules. We help you with those too.

First time doing any kind of construction and an ADU above our garage was quite the experience! Alex was good at letting us know each step of the way. We had a hiccup with cabinets....but even with that delay, project was done within a week of when he said it would b done! I've been told, in the construction world, that's miracle! He worked with us to keep us within our budget....even assisting on some areas so it would b amazing! I loved that he didn't "nickle & dime" us to death!! Anything extra needed was carefully shared & explained. The finished product is so much more than we could have hoped for & admired by all who view it! Thank you Alex & CEB!!

RV Garage FAQs

How tall does an RV garage door need to be?

It depends on your RV. We measure your RV’s height, including the roof AC and anything else on top. Then we size the door with extra room.

How big should an RV garage be?

Big enough for your RV plus room to walk around it. Many owners also add car bays or storage. We size the building to your RV, your needs and your lot.

Will my RV fit?

Yes. We plan the bay around your RV’s length, height and width. If you plan to upgrade later, we can size for that too.

Can you add RV hookups?

Yes. We can add power, water and a dump connection if you want them.

Can I live in my RV inside the garage?

Local rules decide whether you can live in an RV on your property. If you want a place to stay, an RV garage with living quarters may be a better fit. We can talk through your options.

How much does an RV garage cost?

The cost depends on size, site work and what you add inside. We give you a clear estimate after we see your lot.

Does an RV garage add value to my home?

A well-built RV garage adds covered storage and usable space to your property. How much value it adds depends on your home, your lot and your market. A local real estate agent can give you the best read.
